This holiday home in Badem is well located down a quiet lane.
Vagator beach is 5 mins drive from the villa. Ashwem beach, one of Goa’s best beaches, is 15 minutes drive from the villa. Anjuna beach and the Flea market are 10 minutes away.
The charming Portuguese villa is fully air conditioned and professionally decorated with hand finished walls, broken marble flooring and a stained glass window. Spread over 420 sq metres, the villa is an elegant combination of bespoke furniture and antique artefacts selected from palaces and mansions from India and Europe.
A foyer opens up to a brightly lit passage that leads to three en-suite bedrooms ending at the master bedroom. French windows line one side of the passage offering a view of the garden and the pool.
To the left of the foyer is a well fitted kitchen with cosy breakfast seating and an antique crockery cupboard. Next to it is a study with beige-and-white patterned flooring that doubles up as a bedroom with an antique cast iron bed.
The second bedroom is a charming combination of muted colour tones and pretty paintings and artefacts.
Past the second bedroom is the master bedroom. Distressed white wooden flooring and antique furniture are paired with bright cushions and vibrant paintings. The bathroom has intricate mosaic walls and flooring.
Across from the bedroom is an airy living and dining space with a triple-height sloping roof. A palatial door serves as a wall hanging, framing a painting and holding an assortment of antique plates in its niches. Arched doorways lead out onto a veranda that touches the swimming pool. At one end of the garden, near the pool, is a shaded gazebo perfect for al fresco dining.
The fourth bedroom is situated up a flight of hand-cut stone steps. A balcony of antique wooden railings and a cosy sit-out overlook the pool.
