Goa is known for its sun-kissed beaches but lesser known for the richness of its hinterland.

A cruise down Goa’s rivers and canals reveals a different vista of the languid life Goa is known for while allowing you to explore the beauty and richness of Goa’s forested hills and uninhabited islands.

Some of our luxury villas in Corjuem and Morjim take luxury to another level. Their private jetties offer you a wonderful opportunity to explore inland rivers and canals. Imagine a boat ride in the morning to breakfast at a beach shack in Morjim. Or, if you’d like an adventurous start to your holidays, our concierge service could arrange airport transfers via speedboat to your chosen villa if it is located near a jetty.

Boat trips along Goa’s tranquil waterways are a time capsule of Goa’s ancient past. These ancient routes, once the harbingers of trade and conquests, are now traversed by houseboats, speedboats and canoes. Dotting their banks are old historic houses, white-washed churches and ancient temples. At sunset, flocks of birds return to nest in the low-lying trees that hug the river banks. At low tide, local women and children amble along the shores to dig out and collect mussels. If you are lucky, you could sight dolphins. But if not, don’t be disappointed, there’s an abundant variety of bird and animal life.
