In the quiet village of Loutolim nestles this imaginatively restored Indo-Portuguese mansion dating back more than a hundred and fifty years. The villa offers 3 reception rooms, 5 en-suite bedrooms, a large kitchen, private pool, massage room and a tree-shaded yoga pavilion.
Three of the 5 bedrooms are air-conditioned. The non-air conditioned bedrooms are traditionally styled and open to the rafters with large ceiling fans for natural ventilation. The beds have comfortable deep sprung mattresses. Each bedroom is a blend of original Portuguese clay tiles with bright fabrics and eclectic Indian furniture. Hot water is heated via solar panels.
Each bedroom has its own private terrace or garden where breakfast could be served. For large groups, dining would be arranged indoors or at a table by the pool side.
The nearest beaches are approx 20 mins drive from the villa. But don’t let that put you off. The staff would arrange taxis whenever required to drive you to some of the most beautiful beaches in South Goa and the entertaining markets of North Goa.
The village of Loutolim is a green, quiet and culturally rich village. One can take a walk into the village to see the local church or visit a local market. The villa itself is set in a one-acre property. The extensive gardens offer a quiet spot to enjoy the abundant bird life. Later, join friends at the bar for drinks before dining under the stars or indoors in the chandelier-lit dining room.
The villa is fully staffed and includes a private, licenced bar and an excellent cook with whom daily meals can be arranged, including picnics for days out. Lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks would be charged separately.
The villa has a well-stocked bar and the bar tender conjures up excellent cocktails or mocktails. They also offer a fine selection of wines.
Breakfast is included in the price and served between about 8:00 and 10:00. Coffee from freshly ground Indian Arabica beans, a choice of fine teas and tisanes, and fresh fruit juices accompany a wide choice of cold and cooked breakfasts. From deliciously ripe plum tomatoes, sliced and sautéed with garlic and butter, served on local toasted bhakri unleavened bread, to a homemade muesli served with seasonal fruits, fresh curd and a little fruit compote, there is something to suit every taste.
Lunches are a varied choice from the day’s fresh homemade soup served with a little salad or snack on the side and accompanied by fresh local bread. Or a typical Goan meal of fish, curry and rice. Dinner is a formal three course affair, often served in dining room. The dining table seats up to 16 people in comfort.
The villa is ideal for private catered parties, small company conferences, team building events, retreats and reunions, birthdays, anniversaries and wedding celebrations. Special menus, cakes and cocktails can also be arranged for events.
The villa accommodates up to 10 adults and offers 3 extra mattresses. For large parties, the villa kitchen can cater meals for up to 80 people at one sitting around the pool. The tree shaded yoga floor is available all day to guests with private classes by arrangement. Professional massage and spa treatments are readily provided. The villa is also home to a few dogs and cats!
